* 3 lbs flank steak * 1 tbsp olive oil * 1/2 cup white onion (chopped) * 1 cup beef broth * 1 bundle cilantro (chopped) * 2 tsp minced garlic * 1 tbsp chili powder * 1 tsp paprika * 1 tsp cumin * salt & pepper as desired * 2 limes for juice * mini corn tortillas (fried in a little butter)

Our moment was the big Northeast blackout of 2003... driving back from camping north of Toronto and we luckily had just filled up on gas before it hit (limped home on one tank). Had a 10pm pool party with neighbors to get rid of all the meat/dairy in the fridge/freezer.
Helene's fury came and went (yet her impact will remain for months in the Southeast/mountains)... and we've already had Isaac, Joyce, and Kirk forming way out in the Atlantic. Here's a reminder that we're only 2 weeks removed from the historic peak of hurricane season. #weather#hurricane#Helene

YOUR HISTORY TEACHER NEVER TOLD YOU- *me, checks lecture notes* I definitely told you. YOUR TEXTBOOK LEFT OUT- Me: It is on page 37 and again on 54. HISTORIANS NEVER ADMIT- Me: Look will you just admit already that you slept through class?
I'm not sure if I've ever seen "ALL ROADS CLOSED" for an entire half of a mid-sized state, even in hurricane context.
