Same here, the Spectrum was my older brother's but I became fixated with the thing. It was like nothing I'd ever felt before, family joked I would end up as "one of those computer freaks". How right they were!
New from me over on Stuff: The mini retro game console revivals we’d all love to see www.stuff.tv/features/min...#retrogaming
SNES? C64? Pfft. Old news. We want a tiny Sega Dreamcast, N64, PS2 and BBC Micro under our telly, STAT
Pi1541 and Kung Fu Flash are two very good options, and also very cheap. KFF supports EasyFlash, so you can play a ton of old multi-load games on the original hardware with practically no loading times at all.
I enjoy fixing up any old retro computer / console that has a half decent software library, but I am a total geek when it comes to 64s. They are like catnip to me, I can't leave them alone. It's a machine has always been a source of great joy to me, ever since I was a nipper. 😊
It's purely a labour of love for me. I don't do it very often but it keeps me sane, the C64 is probably a boring old Corby breadbin circa 1984, but I'll still enjoy fixing it up.
From the description: "Given it's condition though this is definitely either a restoration project or a parts donor." That, as they they say, is my jam. 😃
Sometimes, when I need cheering up, I buy the most ratty looking dead or untested Commodore 64 eBay has to offer and fix it up (or at least bits of it). To me, this is the adult version of a Kinder Surprise. What's inside? We just don't know! I will make this into a thread when it arrives.
Maybe this is the only way she can stay relevant, sort of a career-poltician Katie Hopkins. Or maybe she really is mad as a mongoose.
This is so common there's a Wikipedia article about it. In high profile organisations where employees then go airing their dirty laundry on social media, it's even more of a facepalm.
My cousin didn't like this loading screen, so he ran off a copy of the tape and replaced it with the Way of the Exploding Fist loading screen. True story.
