FYI - Approval for publishing is from the hospital committee, its a pure bureaucratic hurdle where You either include the committee members on the paper or wait months for approval - I chose the later. No funding available for research or publications from the institute either.

2/2 but I am confused over publication, the cost is enormous for Me and getting a waiver is not always guaranteed. Some people suggested I go for a preprint. I have no idea how that would impact My research profile or any academic contribution. P.S The paper is on Pediatric Seizures. #academicsky

I don't have any expertise in the field so consider My opinions a layman's observation. I have noticed a severe increase in vector-borne disease which maybe due to the imbalance of natural pest control like Dragonflies, beetles etc. In My childhood there was an abundance of these bioindicators

Same worldwide. I was going through my pics from 2010 and I noticed the same time of year, 14 years ago our garden would be full with butterflies and bees while at night there would be thousands of fireflies dancing around. I don't remember the last time I actually saw a firefly past few years.

P.S - I do have some research experience. I wrote a first author paper on neurological presentation of osteomalacia (its under review at BMC Springer). I have worked as project coordinator on a very big immunization campaign as well. This makes me over qualified for an RA/TA but somehow not for phd

Initially I was targeting UK - but then I found out about a yearly fee that was more than the stipend. Now I am trying labs and job postings all over. My bachelors is 6 years, recognized globally as an MD qualification. Msc in Pakistan is 2-3 years and only 1 university offers Msc Neuroscience.
