Huh—My New Yorker parents grew up adjacent to a lot of Jewish culture. When I’ve hung with friends who are Jewish and they referenced something unfamiliar, I’ve said things like “I’m a dumb shiksa, could you explain?”😆 I’ve assumed a connotation of “shiksa=outsider” that isn’t necessarily malevolent
