6, is a little infamous for some RNG shenanigans, but I like the story If you don't want to play the originals, you can play the 1 and 3 remakes for the DS (3 needs a patch translation) and 2 you can play the remake on 3DS. 4 have very big maps and 5 have the exhaustion system (both on snes)

Also, 4 has the second gen thing (like Awakening). All of them are good in their own way, but I prefer to play from gba onwards because of QoL
