i think that one of pokemon's strengths is how good it is at providing monsters for every taste, from cute and cuddly ones, to badass ones, to ones that are just plain WEIRD and it sucks to see parts of the fanbase just missing that in favor of "but why ice cream and not big murderwolf though???"
