CVS reported $8.34 billion in profit last year, and spent $12,476,000 lobbying against policies like universal healthcare and lower prescription costs. CVS is asking customers to donate to help the problem that they’re making exponentially worse, just to pad their profits.
In a high interest rate environment, the store benefits by holding your money and earning interest on it until they actually do the donation. It may be an immaterial amount but still a trick-fuck.

Eff this
So many corporations do this. Makes me sick.
Those customer donations are used to replace pledged corporate donations to the charity. And, at least one court has said this is not fraud. www.jdsupra.com/legalnews/ne...
Customer donation programs work. Although consumer fatigue with answering round-up and add-a-dollar prompts is on the rise, these point-of-sale fundraising campaigns have become effective tools...
Hypocrisy is their brand. Government antitrust laws needto break up these mega pharmacies.
Oh, I hate CVS with the hottest, most intense hate
Initially I read that as CVS reported $8.34 billion in theft last year ..and I thought how odd that they would report their own thievery
Not to pile on to this, but in case you needed a reason to hate on CVS even more, CVS contains: retail pharmacy, specialty, mail order, PBM, GPO, health clinic, health and dental insurance (Aetna), and more. People think CVS is just Rx, but they are involved in most health biz.Not to pile on to this, but in case you needed a reason to hate on CVS even more, CVS contains: retail pharmacy, specialty, mail order, PBM, GPO, health clinic, health and dental insurance (Aetna), and more.
