OTD in 1951 *second* deportations of Operation Osen began. Over 16000 Lithuanians were forcibly deported to Siberia as USSR continued to liberate them from fascism & their freedom 6 years after WW2 ended.

I have a friend in Vilnius whose mother was somehow left behind. All her family deported and killed. One teenage girl left to raise a family and keep the memories.
