We were thrilled to have @elephanteater.bsky.social join us at U-Michigan today to give a presentation about his comics and illustration work, and the creation of his new retrospective art book “One Bite at a Time”

Here are the comics I purchased for the library’s #comics collection at the Ann Arbor Comic Art Festival (A2CAF) Small Press + Indie show this past Saturday

The first Peanuts strip by Charles M. Schulz was published on October 2, 1950.

I saw a promo spot for that and it was like the old SyFy movies came back to life !

I was mostly a DC kid growing up, but Power Pack and Star Wars were the two Marvel comics that I bought regularly.

In celebration of our guests at A2CAF: Small & Indie Press, coming up October 5th, we’ve got a very special exhibit of original comics illustration by Trung Le Nguyen, Tillie Walden, and Ebony Flowers, on display at the Downtown Library through October 13th, thanks to Athenaeum Comic Art!
