It's an ongoing story. The next chapter - tbd election results -is how Biden did basically everything labor unions asked for and Harris will end up with a few fewer labor endorsements than Hillary Clinton, who took them for granted.
Union workers supporting the guy who yuks it up with Musk about firing striking workers and brags about not paying overtime. WTF?
spent a few years in the IBEW which made me think most people’s perceptions of unions is rooted in a completely different era dems aint going to win over non-college whites through pro-Union policy when our entire politics is rooted in identity it’s another version of red state Medicaid expansion
Misogynoir
Union leadership is fucking blowing their moment
Too many people valorize unions on the left and think they're some indicator of anti-right sentiment. But unions are just groups of people and can be equally awful as companies for those not in the "club". Better worker protection laws and government enforcement are way better for everyone.
I really can't wrap my head around what union leadership is doing.
Hillary buried herself with the "basket of deplorables". It was about as fatal as Mitt Romney's "47%". She took a lot of things for granted and, in hindsight, so did we all.
Curious what Biden has done for labor above and beyond a replacement-level Dem. Obviously he supported very pro-labor legislation but I can understand him not getting credit for that when it didn't pass.
On the bright side, I’m seeing some Dems learn the lesson that unions and their leadership are not an unalloyed good to be always supported without question.
