🧵Something that is missing from the A.I. 'art' debate is process. Process is mostly unseen but vital to artistic practice. It includes a lot- technique, critical reflection, influences & importantly time. Artists aren't output machines. Time spent making things enriches meaning.

Well said, my friend. I often find myself enjoying the process of making my art! Going over and polishing things and adding sprinkles of new ideas is so satisfying. And adding all those final details is SO rewarding! Enjoy the process and let your art slow cook like a nice roast ham! :3

💯 what a lot of ai art supporters dont understand is that making art is wasteful; its messy. artists abandon projects or completely start from scratch sometimes. it may seem like wasted time to outsiders, but that experience of failure enlightens future work. it is necessary for art to flourish

🧵con't- Initial intent grows & changes with reflection & time. The stew gets richer as new thoughts are triggered by past decisions. This gives the audience more space for interpretation, room to add their own experience to better relate to the work.

I personally think AI is *meant* to skip process- those who value AI see that time as a waste, they only see art as a "result", which is why they prefer AI to actually developing skill. No AI fan actually values or understands art.
