I wish more understood how liberal transphobia works. Vague commitments to "LGBT rights" on paper while ceding ground to right-wing, being vindictively harsh on trans sex workers, prisoners, anyone facing workplace/medical bigotry and all trans organizing more militant than the non-profit complex.

So, a reminder that we have to fight - a lot - and we'll keep having to fight whoever gets in office.

In August, a bunch of pro-peace Michiganders, like myself, attended the @michigandems.bsky.social convention. Our trans and gender nonbinary friends were like, “There is no inclusive restrooms.” People were harassed in the restroom. We complained. A month later MDP admitted they never considered it.

And often the transphobia is coming from inside the house. Too many trans ppl will side w some shitty comedian, or actor, or a wholeass movie studio/franchise, thinking it's clever & revolutionary. It's not. It directly undermines other trans ppl right in front of everybody, legitimizing tokenism.

i've talked about before that transphobia in the 90s, with liberals, has a very different tack. it's gawking at jerry springer and shit and going "huh! weird" and then like moving on. not good, but they aren't melting their brain over it day in, day out.
