Everytime a re-release with updated graphics comes out, the company should have to provide an option to load the old graphics with the new mechanics at least, if not just the older version of the game

Cave Story + did this. You could toggle the updated graphics and soundtrack on and off separately. I like to play with new graphics (16bit! Wow!) and original music.
