something I'm noticing with a lot of games is the tendency to favor failure, and for that failure to be especially punishing. 1 hit to end your magic garden run, incoming damage tuned way too high for planet zoldath, porgy and planet quest taking everything from you 1 pixel from the exit, etc.

more ufo 50 stuff: why does house party let you ruin your deck with one button press during a time when you're mashing to get the results to speed up anyway also there are too many wild friends. so many runs have ended within the first 2 nights because both of them pull 3 of them right away.

porgy on ufo 50 was talked up a lot but it's really disappointing me. it would be better with a map. and faster movement. and a main attack that is either homing or predictable or long range enough to be effective. as it is, you miss 90% of your shots against enemies directly in front of you. why

it just resets you to mashing the basic attack. grappling exists but every option does lower damage than the basic attack. dash attacks and jump kicks serve to knock the enemy down so you can mash the basic attack on them. it's boring.

the reason these rules are not generally broken is because it removes counterplay from a lot of situations. you can sit on top of a boss comboing forever and because there's no safe wakeup you just win. or the same happens to you. there's a new dodge roll that helps you out of these situations but-

liking ufo 50 so far but fist hell breaks some clear beat-em-up rules in a bad way. everyone's hitbox extends much higher on the y-axis than their hurtbox, making approaching from below the only viable option. also very limited wakeup invincibility and you can be hit out of your defensive special.
