People on Twitter at this point have noticed the Nazis in the bar, they’ve seen the owner stop by to shake hands, and ultimately decided it’s fine, just as long as they don’t have to actually move to get a drink.
Another thing that drives me crazy are the people who think they’re fighting the good fight by staying for political purposes despite all the research on how this is as pointless as arguing w/Nazis.
The Nazis are being *paid* to drink there.
I’ve stopped past a few times. It used to make me laugh. Then it made me angry. Last time it made me hopeless and I can’t afford that shit. No. Thank you.
Over the last 3/4 months, I've posted in Twi'X signposts to BlueSky, always with sane but reasonable reasons to move. My personal bubble in Twi'X is full of lovely, reasonable people... who don't (more likely emotionally can't) move. Ditto 'my' bubble of professionals. Nada. I've given up trying.
it's extremely interesting when you replace 1) twitter with the US Gov't, 2) nazis with Electoral parties and 3) a drink with comfort
A lot of people are still on Twitter and refuse to come here, it makes me sad. I hate it there but it's the only place to read their content.
I sleep better knowing that my posts are not contributing to his trillions
It's extremely frustrating. A lot of the cybersecurity research community is still living there, and I have to put on a life jacket and paddle over there every day. It's still my only conduit into many things I need to remain aware of. Mos Eisley.
Not quite! I still get o go there I don’t get anywhere else. People like Simon Holmes à Court and Ronni Salt…
