Despite being voidsent, she was /created/ and was born in Eorzea at the start of the Ala Mhigan occupation before her parents fled. Her twin sister is now head of her family's noble house (on her mother's side) in Ishgard. For all intents and purposes, though, Vyr is legally deceased.

In fact, Vyr is not actually her birth name. She took a new one when she became voidsent. She shares abilities with her sire, but has begun to develop her own abilities, still in infancy, and she's taken to exploring them with studious curiosity. As such, she's a big collector of books.
