@tay i do remember fedora's package manager being REALLY slow, although afaik they switched over to a compiled-language version in 41 earlier this year, so i imagine that would help

@deneb yeah i think a problem was also, fedora seems to do a lot of updates as part of shutdown/startup, so you can't actually use the machine while it's installing them
