forgive the earnest posting, but there have been a few pieces of certifiably Good News in the last few weeks here in Toronto and i feel like sharing them they all share the common trait of addressing problems in a more socially conscious way (short thread)

Toronto just launched it's non-police crisis response service city wide. it's our 4th 911 service, and it provides support for people experiencing mental health emergencies using a consent-based, client-centered, community lead model, without involving police www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
We also got the free universal breakfast program expanded to every school in the city a couple weeks back! Olivia is quietly going about being an amazing mayor imo
