Tipping culture is out of control. I'm all for tipping servers, but I just tried to buy something from an online store and they asked for tips at checkout. What exactly am I tipping for? Hard pass on buying there.

No. Tips make up for the employer not paying the staff enough. If you’re an online store you make sure you pay yourself enough so you don’t need a tip. I tip my online artists, but that’s different. Everyone knows that artists don’t usually charge what their work is really worth!
