I personally believe in the state of North Carolina where we have the highest rate of rape and sexual abuse in the country it should be taught in the public school system a curriculum in health class that requires all students to be educated in the facts about rape and sexual abuse.
As an advocate my self it amazes how the stereotype is so prevalent today they think survivors of sexual abuse should not get special treatment and they won't pay for their medical care but sex offenders get guarantee medical care behind bars
The State of North Carolina doesn't uphold the violence against women act and most rape victim get the blame I think rape and sexual abuse should become a federal crime and if the women who are incarcerated in a Federal Prison they would get their birth control and medical care .
As a rape victim my self I will be the first to tell you religious organizations suck. Fake Christianity 101 I earned a certificate of ordination in Pastoral Council specifically for survivors like me Because churches suck they still blame the victim and so does our legal system.
These women may be under supervision but they still end up pregnant with unplanned pregnancy why when birth control doesn't cost that much the health department provides the service for incarcerated women in my state it sounds like a need for a class action law suit is needed.
