I think there's a simple explanation for that. It's not that people don't know about the issues elsewhere, but the Open Science (TM) has been disproportionately concerned about NHST, p-values, and error control and have largely focused on making those work.

But I too wish we moved beyond this narrow vision about science and statistical inference.

I heard a statistician joke years ago that until they learn how to use stats, scientists should only be able to make claims based on plots of the raw data. As the years go on, I find myself kinda thinking it's a fantastic idea for most research papers.
