In fairness, the ozone layer faded as an issue because we actually managed to address it through effective international action - the Montreal Protocol has been effective in eliminating CFCs and now ramping down their initial replacement chemicals.

This one stood out to me too. Humans actually fixed the issue. Acid rain as someone else mentioned, has gotten a lot better.
