"I am a tour guide sometimes"

Callaghan, George I love Oxford University and I am prouder of being an Oxford graduate than anything else.  I am a tour guide in Oxford sometimes. I am cosmopolitan and polyglot person. My aim is to make Oxford the greatest university in the world. Oxford is magnificent in many regards. However, Oxford's position is under threat due to chronic underfunding. My major goal as chancellor would be to raise funds to improve academic salaries and student life. Oxford should not overexpand. Big is not always beautiful. We must emphasise quality over quantity. The university should not be too impersonal. I want to see green spaces preserved.  Unlike previous chancellors, if elected I would live in Oxford full time and that would be my only home.  This is an apolitical post. However, I would not hesitate to denounce any politician who harms the interests of the university.  I would urge the university and colleges to move forward with environmentally friendly policies.

(Chancellor is largely a symbolic position, does not hold any real power, and is often not even a resident of the area. Their "job" is to do pomp and circumstance. The Vice Chancellor is the actual head. It's a weird thing.)
