This is outstanding. Thank you, David, it says everything I've been thinking without being able to articulate. The lobby system of journalism infuriates me, because of the cosiness between the politicians and journalists. Those journalists are basically like Rick Sky was with pop stars.

Lobby journalists are good - sometimes outstanding - at being lobby journalists. But specialised reporting on discrete policy areas is not their job.
