Can I ask something (in good faith!)? It might be a very bleak or moan-ey question, but... I see this often; you can donate/adopt an animal, and then get a stuffed animal or other 'keepsake'. Doesn't the production of such things also add to damaging the environment? Is it a net-benefit?
