Chandler writing a letter about his conversation with Taki about The Atlantic. And she apparently hated Boston

Sept. 20, 1948 To: Charles W. Morton ... Did I send you a picture of our cat? I asked the cat and she said the hell with Boston, she wouldn't have her picture there ...So I said they publish and edit the Atlantic in Boston what's supposed to be the most intellectual periodical in the country except the avant garde stufi that nobody reads except the guys that write in it. The cat said, the hell with the Atlantic too, the last piece she tried to read in it was something about England (the hell with England) and by a guy working for some college or other as some kind of teacher and the guy don't know the difference between each other and one another. No wonder we got illiterates running the country and guys that think Abie's Irish Rose is a novel. You say you would take a piece about our cat, God forgive you. Try and get a piece about our cat. We didn't have this cat seventeen years in order for some freeloader to say God forgive him he'd even take a piece about her for his goddam parish
