Judging by the replies, many people have no clue that this massive war is still going. Something of this scale is possible to ignore just because of barely any media coverage. And we thought Holodomor happened in silence because there was no internet. Not, it’s the lack of care.
Yeah, it did seem like online, people stopped talking about the Ukranian war since Palestine started up...but offline, it's still Ukranian flags everywhere and very little Palestine representation at all.
“Wow I hope everyone was safe!”, “OMG that’s wild” and my favourite “Despite the terrible circumstance that image goes kinda hard”. Imagine your country, a 40+ million nation, literally the biggest country in Europe is being erased every day and people outside don’t even know or care.
In the US, sadly, we've been sucked into The Isreal/Palastine conflict with no additional air left in the room, due to US foreign policy and weird Christian influences.
Putin won the war in Gaza in Oct 7 but he also won his victories this year with Western complacency last year. Ukraine has won already is something that started in Feb 2022 and just got worse. @philipblood.bsky.social

Why so much of the democratic world is so slow and/or apprehensive about confronting the Paper Bear that is Russia while it's still fueled by hubris, I don't understand. Enough appeasement and it will slowly become the formidable foe of NATO it can only pose as now
