With the exception of the obvious gore, Warhammer really isn't any more mature or transgressive than a children's cartoon. Kids' media tackles serious and sometimes dark topics on the regular, kids aren't stupid

Kids love horror stuff. Goosebumps is a huge hit for a reason and the whole genre of kid horror video game and the whole cottage industry of let's player attached to it can attest to that.
