Incredible photo via Potomac Riverkeeper today (credit: Nathan Hitt) of the Shenandoah River, muddy with polluted runoff from Helene, meeting the Potomac at Harper’s Ferry.

Aerial photo of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers converging. Green tree-covered hill on the left, the town of Harper’s Ferry in the middle. Two bridges cross the water. The Shenandoah on the left is murky brown; the Potomac is green-blue. A sharp line between them.

Minneapolis build more homes than other mid-Western towns and saw prices fall by comparison. Building more homes really does work.

A policy in MN that evidently really benefited severely-disadvantaged children in a very cost-effective way. Grateful to NBER Digest for coverage of study by David Simon, Jon Pedersen, Heidi Ombisa-Skallet, & me. 📉 📈 #childwelfare#policysky

Seriously, if you want to read a verdict from the bench that finally says what we've been thinking all these years, read this! I am so proud of this white southern man. I really hope it sticks, but the important part is SOMEONE IN A ROBE FINALLY SAID IT.

Some students came to our international folk dance group tonight. I told my daughter I was about that age when I first joined this group in grad school. Then realized that was 17 years ago.
