I love how Piper Laurie thought the movie was a comedy when she was acting her scenes as Carrie's mother, and inadvertently ended up building one of Hollywood's best villains. The "dirty pillows" line cracks me up every time lol

She’s terrifying. The worst people in the world are always absurd in some way. Her playing that character so big and De Palma approaching it dead seriously really creates the distance that all that terror comes out of. She’s so ridiculous and hasn’t the first clue. Just barking fucking mad.
