In the US, that depends on which circuit you are in. It also assumes the phone has retained the ability to unlock via biometrics at that point. Thereās several mechanisms to force dropping biometrics tokens or flows that result in them being dropped due to time or interaction.
That may or may not change your conclusion but a lot of folks are assuming a very different interaction for how this works than the one that the system uses.
The bad version the CA DMV did with an app requires this, but the version available in CA now using platform technologies in the OS explicitly does not require giving them your phone in the same way you do not give a merchant your phone to pay. Same interaction.
They have been so focused on the optical domain that in the processing domain their expertise is a ā¦ narrow depth of field. I think they are starting to realize but arenāt really prioritizing it yet. Unclear whether they truly leap. On phones thereās no choice. You canāt just focus on optics.
