i'll never understand people willing to be blind to their own supposed politics in wanting to be/remain popular. if you're a leftist, you say things that make people uncomfortable. you challenge the status quo. you help liberate those around you from the shackles of neoliberal ideology

some people will be like "fuck prisons" but as soon as they're confronted with someone who has hurt other people they're like "put them in this different prison, that isn't actually that different and still harms them" and we really need to fucking change that
