The single best reason to read a book is that you actually want to read it. Unless you have a task with consequences (i.e.: school or a job) that compels you otherwise, read what the hell you like.

Or, even, just not having read what was in that particular book. (I have a few at the moment I've stalled out on. I can only blame my Hugo directed reading for so long before that excuse gets worn through.)

Reading should be freedom. Jump into the world of your choosing.

yesss, i believe that read must be for fun and some kind of “scape” from reality, not just for show everyone you’re intelligent for that (of course, for school it’s different KKKKK

Is "My TBR is long enough to last me 10 years but I really want to read this one" considered a task with consequences? 👀👀

People ask me how I read so much, and this is how. I read what I like, when I like it. And I DNF often too.

yeah, and sometimes the best book is the one on the other side of the reading pile! 👀 I’ve got three I’ve started and haven’t finished, but they’re staring at me from the shelf like they know... I think reading whatever you feel like at the moment is the way to go.
