Much of the problem is that the costs of Labour's strategy, WFA cut and failure to abolish 2 child cap, are definite, immediately felt and obvious, whilst any benefits from investment are speculative, long-dated and arguable. Reeves has *not* said that individual depts won't suffer real terms cuts.

Also in the debit column is on-going adherence to main fiscal rule, which is every bit as moronic as you say. Unforgivable bit of self-harm imv. Re the Trussening, her tax cuts were targeted at the rich, who have low marginal propensity to spend, so wouldn't really have much stimulated demand.
