It doesn't work though, except for certain kinds of pain, an area where placebos are famously good at in general

it helps my mother in law's rheumatoid arthritis, which other placebos haven't (and while I never enjoy it when my osteopaths use acupuncture as well as manipulation, I do always find it's more effective than just the manipulation).
