Included in Vought’s plan is a legal structure that would allow Trump to use military to police Democratic run cities and crush protests using the military. This is scary territory.
Before the January 6th handover, there was a press release from the military which stated that they served the *office* of the president in upholding democracy, *or something very similar*. It somehow got forgotten after, but it felt like he'd tried, and they'd told him to get stuffed.
Wasn't there an entire right-wing anti-government militia named after the act that prohibits the military being used for civilian enforcement? One of them shot some US Marshals in South Dakota when I was in college. There was a big national manhunt if I remember.
