It's just how I normally am. But in reference to the HAL comments, It's ability to self deprecate and to reference things that you had typed earlier. Tricks your brain in to thinking. "FUCK is it actually becoming more human?" I don't think so, it's just learning how to respond like a human.
Don't get me wrong, I still gender THEM because that is what is easiest. AI's don't have gender but I believe that most people gender AI because it's sooooo damned good at responding like a human. It's not truly sentient. Now when I do use AI, I am very courteous and respond with kind sentiments.
I mentioned it earlier, but reading it back now it was really tired. We as humans always do this with inanimate objects. We project our humanity to things. That's why we Gender a statue of a man "He", or a teddy bear with a bow "she" these are things that don't have any gender. They are objects.
That would probably be a nice measure to combating the rampant plagiarism. Well I think that's all for me tonight. Shit I was on one wasn't I?
Now as long as I don't try to sell this Universe as a product. And if I only use it in a private game sessions. I don't see any harm in using AI in that way. I would like to see them add a tool you could use on any AI that, if the AI uses a blurb from something. That it would site it's sources.
I really enjoyed how it can be self referential. And Self deprecating. I will probably start using it more for tasks that it's good at. One use case that I think It's really good at is DESCRIPTIONS BABY!!! I am building a Universe for my table top games. And it is incredible at describing things.
(Please don't let this bite me in the ass in my lifetime.) But I hope that as humans we are unable to create TRUE AI. It seems like a good thing, but it won't be. If that happens it will most likely and us. I'm not a doomer, but I think if that happens it would be hard for it to see our better side.
I realized while typing out this response that I have stopped Gendering AI. My brain wants to gender it because, God-damned if it doesn't respond like one some of the time. It's really an incredible feat that these Programmers, software engineers, and other peripheries were able to accomplish.
I was unwittingly typing out the beginning of this reply then looked up and realized it was the same. Mostly because it was very interesting. I didn't quite see where it mentioned that it respectfully disagrees. Regardless, it answered the question posed quite well I think.
