We’ve had sparrowhawks in our garden but not at all this close. Kestrels are gorgeous. I remember holding them a couple of times at country fairs etc as a kid and being totally enamoured

as with most birds, the males are just stunning to look at, but this lady was also super beautiful, and so small! i could have held her like a tiny baby! i'd have been slashed to ribbons but that's just the cost of doing business with a murder machine
