I test-drove NotebookLM's podcast mode. Conclusion: Its conversational speech is excellent but its comprehension is flawed in a way that may reflect the overall limitations of LLMs (large language models) as a path to AGI (artificial general intelligence).

The media have done a decent job of describing tariffs as taxes on U.S. purchaser but consistently fail to note the basic economic fact that there is a tradeoff between import tariffs as a source of revenue and tariffs' ability to shift demand for foreign goods to domestic products.
