And sometimes I don’t even get a sub! Since I’m a specials teacher, they’ll pull my sub to cover a classroom teacher’s room if needed. So then I made plans for nothing 😭

I’m so tired of justifying why culture that’s beyond “they celebrate these holidays and like these sports” needs to be intimately integrated while teaching language. If students’ prior knowledge is “illegal immigrants speak Spanish” you have work to do.

Yesss! So many language classes do nothing more than perpetuate the stereotypes learners already have of the users of the language they’re studying!
