Nope. Nope. Nope nope nope.

Photo shows a screenshot from the CNN account on Threads that reads: CNN was part of a press group granted access to Israeli forces in Gaza. Journalists embedded with the IDF in Gaza operate under the observation of Israelis commanders in the field and are not permitted to move unaccompanied within the strip. As a condition to enter Gaza under IDF escort, outlets have to submit all materials and footage to the Israeli military for review prior to publication. CNN has agreed to these terms in order to provide a limited window into Israel’s operations in Gaza.

Blink if everything you are about to say is state-sanctioned lies.

It looks like a reward for blowing enough journalists to bits and flattening the AP office. “Here IDF why don’t you have veto power”. One could imagine this success makes killing even more journalists in future look like a really attractive option.

I think this approach is going to get some interesting data. It is important that CNN have published the terms under which they have to operate. All information that can be used to better understand one party to a conflict is important.

This is not journalism. It's actually the opposite. Absolutely disgusting.

CNN will sell out every principle for the illusion of access.

From the same network that had its journos riding tanks into Basra (I think that was the city), this should not be a surprise.

Hi! Did CNN give them the right to restrict footage generally? Or did they say "you can embed, but you can't show anything that gives away our positions or planning?" These are two ENTIRELY different things. The first is absolutely BS, the second is completely reasonable!

This is where journalists become creative about where they store their flash drives. Those micro SD cards are super tiny.

Bet Suraya Al-Quds would be less restrictive
