Sometimes I think about my formative "Early Internet" experiences and how different it would be if they came out today e.g. Homestar Runner, Achewood. They wouldn't just "exist". There'd be Fortnite skins; HBO Max would do a middling one season TV series. A mobile gacha game.
I think one of the things that is nice about my early memories of what it was like discovering Homestar is that I never had to see him flossing emoting.
I miss how there were places to go to talk about things you loved with other people who were there to do the same, with no one there just to tell you it sucked, and you sucked for liking it. And no opinions were manufactured for views. IDK where/what i'd be now if today's atmosphere was around then.
Thank God we got a 5 episode series of point and click adventure games on the wii instead.
