I just found out about this bsky.social/about/blog/0...@markrubin.bsky.social 's always up to date bluesky knowledge ;) this might also be a way to get more people over here if they get immediately a good idea of who to follow

My feed also has issues ! It seems to work in the skyfeed app but on bluesky itself it shows almost nothing

Does anyone have some good advice or resources on learning (scientific) moderation skills in meetings apart from "just doing it"? How do you learn these things ? 🩸🧪

For me the people i work with are just looking for the community and feel/think like there is less interaction here. But now that everyone can join and there is a dm function i feel like in principle all the parts are there

Do you know why people are reluctant to make the change ? I feel like it has objectively most advantages (being open source, easy to use, and i like the feed function). Ive also read that people associate blue sky with political extremes - im not sure why

I know ! I dont know why people are not more motivated to make the change... Also this is not the best place to ask this question perhaps

Great molecular aspects of hematology meeting organised pre-EHA by our department, with many fantastic (keynote) speakers in rainy Rotterdam. I got to present, as well as other PhDs from NL and abroad - including @jstauber.bsky.social#bloodsky

If you've given a poster at a large conference you can probably relate to the first part of this comic - and I really hope you can relate to the last couple of panels too. The payoff is sometimes the one person you connect with.

Multi panel comic:
In the first panels a lone figure stands at a poster. They are isolated. A tear starts to drip from one eye.
In the next panel another figure approaches saying "I'm so glad I made it over here! I've been trying all evening. So, I've read you paper it was so COOL how..."
Final panel is the two figures talking at the poster.
Artist's note: this expresses the feeling of isolation presenting a poster (and just being) at a large scientific conference where you don't know most of the people (which is, like, all conferences really). The one thing that makes it all better is when you really connect with someone over science. It doesn't always happen this way - mostly it's chance interactions where you find that spark - but it is really fun if someone knows your work or if you find someone who's work you know.
