External dressing is the only possible use for manuka (having tasted some 🤢) - tcp flavoured honey. Used widely still in NZ for wounds (and by my friends for their accident prone greyhound).

hahaha...! I take it you're not a fan of manuka honey? I guess the supermarket ones are not real "manuka" honey? I did hear somewhere a couple of years ago about bandages with honey (?) in some studies in NHS.
