I feel like a lot of people in our bigger circle specifically met off twitter sadge what has our weird family home become
Never got in with any art "community" (deviantart/newgrounds/elfwood) so twitter is probably closest to that for me, was just cresting into a feeling of community and now its gone. kind of underlining that lifelong feeling ive always had of just being a bit too late to be part of the golden era
i know this has been rehashed a million times, but it just blows to see what used to be such a good place to grow. i met SO many industry friends on twitter. ive gotten very real jobs from twitter. i feel for the new kids coming in
- ik ppl say "likes aren't real" but this is catastrophic for artists' very real income. even winning the feast or famine game of 20k or nothing isnt helpful. seen multiple artists complain after one of these viral posts no one actually follows their account from them
ppl grinding HARD rn putting some of the sexiest work ive ever seen on twitter getting no viz. you either get 20k likes or nothing. Genuinely sucks for income across the board. I have around 25k following there and I'm getting the same engagement i did at 5k. cont-
