Succulents so far but I might go for cactii next year which are the dangerous ones. Something that can withstand our rather uncontrollable central heating that gets really hot even on 1! And that can be left without watering for 2 weeks at least while I am away!

Succulents or cactii should be quite tough. They should be tolerant without water for few weeks. So you would not be able to kill them!
Only go for succulents as I can be negligent in watering when away for holiday
