Right cause that's what they are charging double for. The plug and play aspect. Their customers don't care if the barrier to alternatives is artificial or not, they just want it to be easy and they will pay for the easy option.
Doesn't matter as long as it's shiny and users don't have to configure anything.
This is proved beyond the shadow of a doubt by the fact that Apple isn't out of business. They are, instead, extremely succesful.
