Anyone else finally deactivate their “X” account, after the latest brandtastrophe? I realized Twitter is really, really never coming back.

I am this 🤏 close… but still holding on, I don’t even know why. You’re right tho. It getting rid of the bird made me realize it’s really, actually, over.

Mostly keeping it around as a way to do messages/invites to people who are mutuals on Twitter. And Tweak New Twitter extension mostly restores the UI.

Once the large majority of my community has been able to move over I'll probably shutter my old acct.

I think journalists will be the last to leave, and I’m mostly there to follow them. But it feels like clinging to the rails of a sinking shipwreck after the rebranding.

I’m keeping it for now to promote a book I have coming out in the fall to whoever is left, but after that, it’s a crapshoot.

I won't be deactivating it till I've secured a form of contact with everyone I want to keep around. That and I really want to watch the ship hit the sea floor.
