RNC: So please give the racial dog whistles a rest, and letās all move forward to victory TRUMP: Krazy Kamala is responsible for millions of illegal immigrants swarming over our border to invade our suburbs, attack our women and sell fentanyl to our children RNC: See? Much better
RNC: It really turns off the undecided voters, particularly suburban women GORKA: Sheās got the right DEI skin color and cackles like an insane woman RNC: And it distracts from our substantive criticism of her record HAGERMAN: DEI! HISSSSS!
A MESSAGE FROM THE RNC RNC: We strongly urge Republicans to stop using racial dog whistles like āDEIā to attack Kamala Harris BOEBERT: Kamala Harris was a DEI hire RNC: This just makes people think weāre all a bunch of racists BURCHETT: DEI is evil & wrong & Kamala Harris is a DEI Vice-President
Maybe itās me, but it does not sound entirely ethical for a judge to be allowed to dismiss criminal charges aganist the SAME PRESIDENT WHO APPOINTED HER
If youāre not angry about Trump, youāre part of the problem.
THE WHOLE OF THE LAW New blog post: https://open.substack.com/pub/dreamweasel/p/the-whole-of-the-law?r=1mplwe&utm_medium=ios
Yesterdayās Supreme Court ruling granted U.S. Presidents absolute immunity from prosecution for ācore official actsā and the presumption of immunity from other acts performed as President. However, they insisted, this was in no way intended to serve as blanket immunity for all of a Presidentās actions.
THIS PAST WEEK IN AMERICAN POLITICS As the debate demonstrated, our Presidents are fallible human beings. They can be dishonest, confused, corrupt, incoherent, petty, arrogant, & very deeply flawed. In other news, the SCOTUS granted them even more protection from any kind of legal prosecution.
I imagine their reasoning is along the lines of āWe survived Trump the first time; we can survive him again.ā But they are likely in denial of how effectively the existing structure of government kept him in check, and how much less likely that would remain true in a second Trump term.
After about six months, it became clear that Trump was never going to get out of the way and any potential challenger in the GOP was going to have to fight him for it
