2/ While NHANES is excellent nationally representative data w/ measured height & weight, the sample sizes are not huge & subject to sampling error.
According to the published NCHS report: “Changes in the prevalence of obesity and severe obesity between the two most recent survey cycles, 2017–March 2020 and August 2021–August 2023, were not significant.” 3/ www.cdc.gov/nchs/product...
Majid Ezzati’s group developed a method to correct systematic bias in BRFSS self-reported height and weight using patterns from NHANES. I wonder if this could help with the sample size problem.
